Material Testing Machine

The Material Testing Machine is a crucial research tool in dental material engineering, enabling precise mechanical evaluation of materials used in dentistry and prosthodontics.

Through tensile strength, compressive strength, and fatigue resistance testing, it analyzes the behavior of dental ceramics, composites, zirconia, and metal alloys under cyclic loads that simulate mastication. Additionally, the machine performs bond strength tests to assess the adhesion between dental cements and substrates such as enamel, dentin, and titanium, along with wear resistance and frictional resistance measurements, replicating the effects of physiological forces and acidic environments on restorative materials. By utilizing biomechanical simulations and failure analysis, researchers can evaluate the durability of implants and restorations under extreme conditions and optimize sintering and polymerization processes to enhance the biomechanical compatibility of materials. The Material Testing Machine plays a central role in developing advanced materials that comply with ISO 6872 and ISO 10477 standards, ensuring that their elastic modulus and coefficient of thermal expansion match natural tissues, providing long-term aesthetic and structural reliability in dental restorations.
