Fraction Collector
Cryostat training is a specialized program designed to teach the proper use and handling of a cryostat, a device used to cut thin sections of frozen samples. This training covers essential aspects, including understanding the cryostat’s components, such as the cooling chamber, blade, and sample holder, as well as mastering techniques for freezing tissues and creating precise sections with thicknesses measured in microns. Participants learn how to collect tissue sections onto microscope slides without damaging their structure, alongside proper maintenance and safety protocols to prevent contamination or accidents.
