MiSeq
The Illumina MiSeq system utilizes Sequencing by Synthesis (SBS) technology for high-accuracy, massively parallel DNA sequencing, supporting single and paired-end reads with up to 15–20 million reads per run and a maximum read length of 600 bp. It is widely used in targeted gene sequencing, small genome sequencing, amplicon sequencing, and 16S metagenomics, with optimized library preparation kits ensuring efficiency. While ideal for small to medium-scale projects, it may not suit large-scale sequencing demands. Proper library preparation and workflow management are crucial for reliable genomic and metagenomic analysis.
